Claims guide

How to make a claim

Something has gone wrong with your vehicle. Here is what to do, what we need from you and when repairs can begin. We assess every claim against the terms of that policy.

Before any repair work starts

Get a diagnosis, then wait for written authorisation from Love Warranty. Starting repairs or paying upfront before approval may affect your claim.

The process

Six clear steps

The quicker we receive a clear diagnosis and the right supporting information, the quicker we can assess what happens next.

01

Stop and record the problem

Note what happened, when it started and any warning lights, noises or symptoms. Contact us as soon as you can.

02

Arrange a diagnosis

Ask a suitable repairer to diagnose the fault. Do not authorise repairs, order parts or pay for work at this stage.

03

Send us the claim details

Provide your policy ID, vehicle registration, fault description, diagnosis and any supporting documents or estimates available.

04

We assess your cover

Our claims team reviews the diagnosis, evidence, vehicle history and applicable policy terms. We will ask if anything else is needed.

05

Wait for authorisation

We confirm the decision and, where approved, the agreed route for repair and payment. Work must not begin until we have authorised it.

06

Repair and completion

The repairer follows the authorised route. We keep the decision and supporting records together and confirm the next step if anything changes.

What to prepare

You do not need to delay contacting us until every item is ready. Start the claim promptly and we will explain what is required for your circumstances.

Your Love Warranty policy ID

Service history, maintenance evidence and recent invoices if requested
Photos, videos or diagnostic reports that help explain the fault
After submission

What happens next

1

Information check

We check that we can identify your policy, vehicle and reported fault, then request anything missing.

2

Assessment

The claims team reviews the diagnosis and evidence against the cover and conditions that apply to your policy.

3

Decision and next step

We explain the outcome. If approved, we confirm what work is authorised and the agreed route for repair and payment.

We aim to provide a first human response within 24 hours, a decision within 72 hours of the evidence we requested being submitted, and payment of approved claims within 3 working days. If the fault, estimate or proposed work changes, ask us before proceeding.
